We were honoured to receive the prestigious Energy and Industry Gold award at The Drum Awards for Marketing EMEA in London today. Awarded for our outstanding E-FWD campaign with DC Thomson, this recognition marks yet another milestone in our journey of delivering award-winning marketing strategies for clients. The win follows a number of achievements over the past year, including three BBN Golden Bee awards and being a named finalist for the AGCC Northern Star Awards and The Drum Awards for Marketing APAC.

This year’s ceremony, attended by Creative Director Alan Stobie and E-FWD Account Manager Cara Gill, was the third part of The Drum’s global tour celebrating the best marketing efforts worldwide.

Reaching new heights in the Energy and Industry sector

Our E-FWD campaign was competing in the Energy and Industry category, a sector that requires both creative thinking and strategic execution. Contending against some of the best in the industry, our work stood out for its creative approach and substantial impact. It was the unique creativity of the E-FWD concept and the well-defined strategy that resonated with the judges, earning the gold award.

Alan Stobie, our creative director, highlighted the campaigns success in surpassing expectations: “Everyone at Fifth Ring is delighted with the award and it’s not hard to see why. We didn’t just create awareness and generate debate, we converted and exceeded membership subscriptions.”

Reflecting on this achievement, Owen Wyatt, the CEO of DC Thomson, praised the team’s expertise and dedication: “The brand didn’t exist six months ago, and now it’s become a convening force for power players in energy transition, which is a testament to the work done with Fifth Ring.” This sentiment underscores the commitment and hard work that went into crafting the E-FWD campaign, positioning it as a benchmark for excellence in the energy industry.
