The Account Manager is responsible for leading client accounts, ensuring that all
projects align with client strategies and deliver measurable results. This role involves
managing client relationships, coordinating with internal teams, and overseeing the
implementation of marketing campaigns. The Account Manager ensures that client
expectations are exceeded and that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities
Client
- Manage multiple client projects, focused on deepening client relationships and taking a trusted advisor approach.
- Ensure client deliverables exceed quality expectations and achieve client satisfaction through effective communication and project execution against client’s business goals.
- Balance strategic and operational/tactical responsibilities for client accounts.
- Effectively brief and align delivery teams to client project requirements.
- Play a key role in supporting new client acquisition and expanding existing accounts. Lead efforts to identify growth opportunities within client portfolios.
- Manage compliance with industry regulations.
- Drive the development of innovative solutions to meet client needs.
- Report on project performance, providing insights and recommendations.
- Manage and execute project negotiations, with support where necessary.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and changes in order to deliver additional value and strategic advice to clients.
Company
- Oversee budgeting for client accounts, ensuring cost-efficiency. Manage the financial health of jobs, including performing regular budget checks and providing timely updates to the finance team where changes occur. Support the finance team by proactively managing billing plans, POs and invoicing in Kantata.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure project deliverables are aligned with client goals, completed on time, and meet quality standards.
- Effectively manage own workload to ensure time logged on client accounts is accurate and efficient, and to minimise over-servicing
- Cultivate and rely on informal networks inside and outside the agency to solve client problems
- Ensure Fifth Ring processes and procedures are followed at all times
- Be a robust defender of the agency’s values, people and commercial interests.
Colleagues
- Communicate clearly and proactively with colleagues to ensure alignment and support. Produce thorough and effective briefs to ensure colleagues are aligned on project outputs and outcomes.
- Support the business development team in developing new opportunities and
onboarding new clients. - Provide proactive support and updates to colleagues where necessary to ensure the smooth running of client projects and efficient and coherent service for clients.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members.
- Work effectively with the Traffic Manager and delivery team members to ensure client requirements are being met and timelines and schedules are aligned.
- Support colleagues in all Fifth Ring locations through proactive consultation, creativity and visibility.
- Other duties will be assigned as required and as appropriate.
Essential:
- A formal qualification in marketing, communications, business or similar.
- 5 years of experience in client services, or a related field.
- Project management experience and strong client relationship management skills.
- Effective customer and stakeholder relationship management skills, including active listening, attention to detail, troubleshooting and proactive management of relationships.
- Excellent communications skills, including the ability to respectfully challenge both clients and colleagues when necessary, maintain composure under adversity and exercise independent and fair consensus-building skills when conflict arises.
- Good commercial and financial skills, budget and resource management.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Fifth Ring business and are to be visible within the geography they work and internationally as appropriate.
- Must be fluent in English.
Desirable:
- Degree qualified (ideally in communications, public relations, marketing communications, business management, psychology or a related subject)
